Hello Steve,
I am creating a simple Google website using
all of the materials one of my Uncles
collected during his army/wartime
experiences during the 1940's.
At one point, he was stationed at Camp
Forrest for training.
Here is the page I have created showing my
Uncle Ralph, and some of his buddies, at
Camp Forrest in the fall of 1942.
https://sites.google.com/site/uncleralphinthearmy/page-8
Would you mind if I linked your website to
this page ?
Thank you for your efforts!

Heck no Chris... would not
mind at all, and if you don't mind I'd like
to do the same.
Might I also create a page
and copy some of your things to
CampForrest.com and use it as a jumping off
page to your web site? I'd also place it in
appropriate areas throughout my site.

Steve,
Thank you!
Yes, please go ahead and copy anything you
would like from what I have.
The pictures of my Uncle Ralph and his
buddies from Camp Forrest are from approx.
September 18, 1942, thru December 19, 1942.
At the time, my Uncle was a Pvt with the 8th
Infantry Division, 28th Regiment, Company
"L".
He would then go on to a number of other
camps in the US before being shipped to
Ireland. From there, he went to Normandy on
July 1, 1944. He arrived back in the
states October 15, 1945.
After the war, he created a rather detailed
scrapbook of photos, postcards, newspapers,
foreign money and military items (his field
manual, dog tags, etc.). It appears that at
least once he tore it apart to make new
scrapbooks with. With the passing of my
Grandfather (my Uncle Ralphs brother) a few
years back, I received this scrapbook, along
with the scrapbooks for my grandfathers and
another Uncles experiences during WWII.
In an attempt to preserve all of this stuff,
and to have my entire extended family be
able to see this, I decided to start
scanning most of it and putting it in a
website.
Google websites are easy and free..........
I haven't created a main page for this site
yet, but will get to it at some point soon.
In checking though the scrapbook, what you
see on the page I sent is all that I have
from his months at Camp Forrest, with the
exception of a few photos of some of his
buddies that are a bit faded.
