STEVE:  My Dad trained at CF early in 1941, he was in the Illinois National Guard and was "Federalized" March 15.1941 then shipped down to CF and  was there until after Pearl Harbor, then he was shipped out with a lots of the guys in Jan of 1942 and was part of Task Force 6814....which was sent to New Caledonia which later became The America Division (Americans in New Caledonia) which saw lots of action in the Pacific.... I have my Dad's war diary and I will send some of his writings when he was at the Camp....I know he was in Chattanooga on leave on Dec. 7th and of course reported right back...We also have a lot of photos from a photo book I think in bought, plus a bunch of snapshots...  so I will try and get this to you in the near future.

STEVE: I have some photos of Camp Forrest Tennessee, my Dad was there from March 1941-January 1942...these will come on several emails as that's the way my sister scanned in to me. My dad's name was John Beck and he was with the 122nd Field Artillery originally a National Guard Group out of Chicago, Illinois......Please feel to post to your Web Site on Camp Forrest...Thanks  John Beck

STEVE:  Just found this site while researching my Dad's WW 2 experiences, you may want to pass on the the folks who are interested, that there is a book that was published in 1982 "Orchids in the Mud" by Muehrcke that has several chapters about the Camp and the authors experiences there, included are many photos, If you Google the book title several used book stores will show up that have copies for sale.
