My name is Laura Opel, and
I am trying to find out some info. about The
POW camps in Tennessee. My father-in-law was
a prisoner of War from Germany during WWII.
I am not sure of which camp he Stayed at,
and am trying to find out if any of the
camps have lists
Of the prisoners. Do you
know the answer to that question? His name
was Hans Opel. My daughter, who is a 5th
grader in Louisiana, would love to do her
Social Studies Fair project on the camp that
her grandfather stayed at…
That is the reason we are
searching for information.

Through further research, we have found out
that my father-in-law, Hans Opel, was a POW
in Camp Crossville, TN during WWII. We
visited the
Camp last year, as well as the town.
