Dear Steve,
I have just come
across your website regarding Camp Forrest
in Tennessee. My husband and I plan to
travel to Tennessee this summer, and I would
love to visit the camp where my father
trained for the army in 1942. My mother
remembers that he was in Tennessee and
thought the name of the town was Tullahoma.
I am assuming that should have been
Tullahoma, and I wonder if Camp Forrest is
where my father was. Dad died in 1981 and
my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s
several years ago, so I’m grasping at any
straws I can find.
Do you have
information on the men that trained there?
I realize this is a long shot, and I
appreciate your response…regardless of a yea
or a nay. My father’s name was Lester L.
Marquardt. He was from Nebraska.
Thank you for
your assistance. Have a safe Memorial Day
weekend.
