Steve: I came by this pillow sham in an
estate sale near Martin, SD a couple of
weeks ago. It looks like it was folded up,
put away and never displayed as it appears
to be in pristine condition. The sham will
be up on my Ebay site at 7pm tonight on a 7
day auction, but wanted to share the picture
and info before it left my hands. I'm big
into sharing history & genealogy with folks.
You can see it on Ebay by item #
170241673429 or on my page

The info below is from the item
description. As you can see, I quoted your
site. :) Roseanna
WW II Camp
Forrest Tennessee
U.S. Army
Souvenir Pillow Sham
Nice World War II Army souvenir pillow sham
from Camp Forrest Tennessee in great
condition. Camp Forrest, located near
Tullahoma, Tenn., was one of the Army's
largest training bases during the World War
II period between 1941 and 1946.
http://www.campforrest.com/brief_look_camp_forrest.htm I
bought this at an estate sale in South
Dakota and apparently it has been folded up
in a box since the 40s since the colors are
still very bright. The graphics are in a
deep blue and the 'Camp Forrest Tenn'
writing on the sign is that red fuzzy
stuff. The sham is made of a satin type
material with gold braided thread fringe
that is still newly stiff. The back of the
sham is a gold cotton type material that
matches the gold fringe. The sham is 17" X
17 1/2" (excluding the 1 1/2" gold fringe).
There is an opening on one end of the sham
at the back where you can slip a pillow
inside. There are five cartoon type
pictures on the sham:
1. Soldier with camoflauge tree on his
helmet and a little bird resting on one of
the branches (top left corner)
2. Five soldiers singing and playing piano
(top right corner)
3. U.S. Army truck getting a push (center)
4. Uniform supply mix up (bottom left
corner)
5. Camp Forrest Tenn sign (bottom right
corner)
NOTE: I cropped some words from the first
picture, as I did not want to offend anyone
by the words sung by the soldiers in the top
right corner of the pillow sham related to
the Japanese during WWII. I have had an item
yanked by Ebay in the past so wanted to make
sure this listing would be appropriate.
