Steve,
On March 24th 1944, my uncle and his
unit the 17th Airborne Division was
relocated from "The Tennessee
Maneuver Area" to Camp Forrest. My
uncle and the 17th would end up in
England in August and then would see
combat in the Battle of the Bulge.
My uncle was captured on the 4th of
January 1945 and held as a POW until
he died one month before the end of
the war in Europe. There were a few
events that raise questions
surrounding his capture and death. I
have recently written and had
published a book called "Missing in
Belgium". "Missing in Belgium" is
not only written around my uncle and
his unit, the 513th Parachute
Infantry Regiment of the 17th
Airborne Division, but also about
the more than 70,000 Americans still
missing and unaccounted for from
World War II alone. I could use your
help in promoting my book to raise
awareness to this little known fact
that we must NEVER forget. As a
result of my book, my uncle is due
to receive the Purple Heart
posthumously this f! all. How many
of these 70,000 Missing Americans
are also due this honor.
Thanks in advance for your help
